Tobias Smith grew up on the South Side of Chicago.
His work has been enjoyed by music & film enthusiasts worldwide. Tobias is Grammy nominated for the Donda album, and a producer and writer on 2 Grammy award winning songs from the album; “Jail” feat. Jay Z & “Hurricane” feat. The Weekend and Lil Baby.
Tobias earned his B.S. in marketing & business logistics from Wayne State University in 2007. He founded Detroit Media Specialists and landed contracts with some of the largest businesses in Detroit including the Detroit Public Schools, The Detroit Pistons, Radio One & Beasley Media Group to name a few.
In 2010, Tobias produced his first documentary film “The Cotton Picking Truth… Still On the Plantation” featuring the late Dick Gregory. The film was produced with no budget and was Tobias’ first time holding a camera. Nevertheless, the film maintains a 97% rating on Google and an 8.3 rating on IMBD. As a result of the film the state of Mississippi ratified the 13th amendment in 2013.
Tobias grew up in radio in Chicago in the 80’s and was running a board by the age of 12. He currently produces “Once Upon A Time in Soul” hosted by NBA announcer & radio legend, John Mason for Beasley Media Group.
